Educational Links for
Geography Teachers

These links focus on assisting grade 9 to 12 geography teachers in Ontario, but are useful to anyone studying geography. The links are organized into the five ‘strands’ of the new Ontario Curriculum for geography. A selection of links explaining the curriculum is provided, as well as links to lesson plans and activities. Teachers, organizations, companies, and publishers have produced all sites, and the course the link is useful for is given.
Curriculum:
Ontario’s
Ministry of Education site provides secondary school curriculum for all disciplines
including Geography, categorized under Canadian and World Studies.

this primer on climate site to explain what climate is and how it works, as

Parks
Canada provides this site of the terrestrial ecozones of Canada. The site provides maps, as well as descriptions

Grade 9: Geography of Canada.
This
Parks Canada site provides information on parks in Canada, history of parks,

Grade 11: Regional Geography: Travel and Tourism.
This
site is provided by the U.S. Census Bureau and provides population pyramids
for every country. The site gives students

This
site provides users with access to hundreds of communities’ located throughout

on Canada’s Boreal Forest, and is aimed at Canadian high school students.
The site provides modules that students can work through, and cover topics
